AdminHistoryWilliam Sherrard was born in St Giles in the Fields in 1809. By 1855 he was established at 1 London Road, Bromley (which later became 146 Bow Road), premises described as "late E. Wray", as an "oil, colour, Italian and British wine merchant and valuer". In directories from 1861 onwards he is described simply as "oilman". He is recorded as residing at this address on the 1861 and 1881 census returns and still appears in the trade directory for 1889, the year of his death.
