Date(s)April 1889 - December 1890
DescriptionEnvelope entitled 'Mr A Kirby's Receipts' containing correspondence from Mr Alfred Kirby (of Kirby and Son, Box Manufacturers, Teesdale Street, Hackney Road, E) re the temporary transfer of deeds to J. J. and S. W. Chalk.

According to the contents of the envelope, the deeds were given to J. J. and S. W. Chalk in return for the timber merchants settling a debt of approximately £26, owed by Mr Kirby to the London Westminster Loan Prompt. The documents (which include letters from Mr Kirby, receipts, calculations and notes), outline the transaction whereby the deeds to the property on Teesdale Street were passed from Mr Kirby to J. J. and S. W. Chalk on 17 April 1890 and held as collateral by the latter until December 1890 when Mr Kirby was in a position to repay his debt to them.
