AdminHistoryNigel Winfield, an independent 'Community Showman' and activist, who was active during 1988 - 2003. He was known as the 'go-to' person for putting on an event in the borough, often liaising between promoter and London Borough of Tower Hamlets (LBTH) licensing, ensuring health and safety. Alongside being an event organiser, he actively partook in the events as a performer with a barrel organ, provided rickshaw rides and created the banners and decorations for events. Throughout all this he worked with the local community and LBTH.

These records reflect the actions and activities he undertook in his capacity as both organiser and activities. They therefore reflect local campaigns such as demonstrating against a McDonald's being developed at the junction of Mile End Road and Cambridge Heath Road, the closure and potential relocation of Jimmy's Stables and photographs of the borough.
