| AdminHistory | Montague Herbert Churchill Shann, engineer, was born in 1869 in Australia son of Richard Shann. He emmigrated before 1891 when he was recorded as an engineer's draughtsman living at 30 Aylesford Street, St Saviour, St George Hanover Square, Westminster. In 1894 he was living in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
He married firstly on 21 October 1905 to Charlotte Louisa Bruford at St Andrew, Taunton, Somerset. At the time he was a consulting engineer of 18 Powis Square, Bayswater. He was later recorded as being of Burdett Road, Mile End in 1911. He married secondly to Amgart Ethel Allen of 33 Priory Road, Kilburn in Islington in 1912 and is recorded in his marriage settlement as being of Sheen Road, Richmond. He was an inventor and patented a invention of gas turbines in the same year in United States of America.
He died in 1956 and is buried at Carr Villa Memorial Park, Kings Meadows, Launceston City, Tasmania, Australia. |
