AdminHistory | Francis Moore held the 'Bow Estate' in Bow in the parish of Saint Leonards Bromley, Poplar. He made his will in 1869 and died in 1876. He appointed his brother William Moore (d. 1883) and John Edward Cockett (d. 1902) as trustees. In the same year, builders James and Josiah Goodman of 41 Clinton Road, Mile End, entered into a conveyance to and to the use of Moore and Cockett with the benefit of leases. The Goodmans leased the properties as follows:
9-10 Archibald Street leased to Augustus Henry Cooper. 11-12 Archibald Street leased to Thomas Duffey. 13 Archibald Street and 7 Ireton Street leased to Henry Loader. In 1878 Henry Loader assigned the lease of 13 Archibald Street to Edward Eve, grocer, who was already living at the property. 1, 3 and 5 Ireton Street leased to Eliza Williams and others.
John Howard Moore became trustee in 1883 after the death of William Moore and the surviving trustee from 1902. In 1921 John Howard Moore of Mellefont, Orchard Road, Sundridge Park, Kent, conveyed the freehold ground rents on properties at 9-16 Archibald Street and 1, 3, 5 and 7 Ireton Street, Bow to Isabella Eve, Louisa Eve and Jane Eve, spinsters, and Alfred Eve, grocer, all of 13 Archibald Street, Bow and Charles Eve of 34 Francis Street, Leyton. In 1962 the owner was Mr C. Eve of 5 Ireton Street, Bow. |
