AdminHistoryLet's Stick Together: Connecting and reflecting by collaging sound and image during Covid.

'Let's Stick Together' was an art project conceived during the various lockdowns and restrictions, and took place during winter and spring of 2021. It connected an intergenerational group of participants at a very difficult time and allowed a space to reflect on experiences during the pandemic.

It was a collaboration between participants from The Bromley By Bow Centre, artist Emily Tracy, and screen writer Line Langebek and radio producer Sarah Cuddon from Library of Change.

Our core group at The Bromley By Bow Centre had been meeting online since the start of the pandemic. Each week they meet to socialize and learn new skills. We were able to join them over 4 sessions, send out materials and share collage making skills. During the sessions various themes emerged. After restrictions eased in spring 2021 we were able to meet outside and record two podcasts, which reflect on the process of doing the collage and some of the stories and inspiration behind the artwork produced.

Together, over 40 collages were created. Our aim was to provide ways for older people and their families to work together on something, even if they couldn't physically be together. We ran a series on workshops online with the Coffee Morning 'Space to Connect' group and sent out materials and instructions through the post.

The group contributed to two podcasts, which were recorded in Bob's Park, which reflect on the process of doing the collage and some of the stories and inspiration behind them.
