AdminHistoryEdward Rider Cook (1836 - 1898), was born in Whitechapel and was a senior partner in the soap and chemical manufacturers Edward Cook and Company based at Bow. He was also a representative for the Poplar District in the Metropolitan Board of Works 1865-1889, and a liberal politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1855 - 1886.
