Recites will of Isaac Stevens. Samuel Lovell has died 'many years since', and Thomas Lane in December 1840 (will proved in Prerogative Court of Canterbury 27 February 1841).
On Lane's death the residuary estate of Isaac Stevens was transferred, for the benefit of Stevens' daughter Sarah, to Lane's son Burton Lane as trustee.
Sarah Stevens (baptised 14 October 1791 in Lincoln's Inn Chapel) married Benjamin Baker and had 7 children: Frederick, Richard, Caroline Ellen, John, Mary, Ann and Augusta. Frederick and Richard (who became 21 on 28 May 1837 and 5 December 1839 respectively) now assign to 3. their interest of one seventh share each in the £2851 14s 8d 3% annuities to which they would become entitled on the death of their mother, in return for £140 each paid to them by 3.
On dorse: additional assignment to 3. (made 28 August 1845) by John Baker of 35 Raven Street, Mile End Rd., who was 22 on 29 July 1845, of his one seventh share in the same, also in return for £140. |
