AdminHistoryHarry Wilkinson was a Royal Air Force medical officer during the Second World War. He came to work in the East End as a GP as a junior partner a short time after the war and retired in 1984. His practice was initially on the Highway where he lived, but when it was demolished it was moved to a converted two-bedroom flat in Barnado Gardens in Stepney.

He was joined by a junior partner, Dr Andrew Dunford, in 1982. In 1985, Dr Dunford moved the practice to the premises in 22 Wapping Lane. Soon after retirement Dr Wilkinson died of leukaemia. The practice was later named the Wapping Group Practice/Wapping Health Centre, remaining at 22 Wapping Lane (as of 2021).
