AdminHistoryWilliam Badger was established as a shipsmith at 48 Upper East Smithfield by 1865. W. Badger Ltd., marine engineers and ship-repairers of 48 East Smithfield, E1, leased premises at Millwall Dry Dock in 1947-1948. They erected sheds for workshops offices and stores in 1949, 1955 and 1959, and remained there until the firm's liquidation in 1981. A firm by the name of Badger Lifting Equipment Ltd was operating from the Old Pumping Station, St. Katherine's Way, E1 in 1984.
CustodialHistoryThe records were found loose on the ground by David G Thomas after the premises had closed and been vandalised.
