<dc:description>Envelope labelled '27' and entitled 'Poplar Recreation Ground. Children at Play.'

Contains three photographs; two black and white photographs of children playing in park areas on swings and slides near Poplar Methodist Church within Poplar Recreation Grounds c. 1940s; one sepia photograph of children playing cricket outdoors beside what could be a church building, early 20th century. The latter photograph is annotated on the reverse 'Our East End 'Test Match''. There are some markings/calculations on the reverse of the images (and on the front of one of them) which suggests they were previously used for publication/display purposes.</dc:description>
