Letter from George Johnstone, surgeon superintendent of the Henry Porcher [according to Lloyd's Register of 1844, a barque built 1817 in Bristol] in St. Katharine's Dock, to his mother at 6 Upper Temple Street, Dublin, Ireland. Refers to the ice in the Thames, to seeing members of his family at Deptford, to Falmouth and to Captain Hindmarsh 'the Governor of the Colony' for which they are apparently bound.
