Scope and Content Names of 8 'stewards' printed at the bottom: Hickson Wright, James Thomas, John Graves, Joseph Bradley, Samuel Walker, William Shipman, Richard Davis and John Barnard. Small red wax seal attached, showing a figure [? in Highland dress with bagpipes] and the words 'Friendship & Charity'. Note: 8 September 1715 was only a few days after the outbreak of the "Fifteen" rebellion in Scotland, when James Francis Edward Stuart [the 'Old Pretender'] was proclaimed as King by the Jacobites at Braemar.
