McCarthy Sketchbook A bright orange sketchbook filled with rough drawings. The book is bound with board and the whole cover has a plastic coating affixed to it. It is approximately twenty five centimetres tall by nineteen wide. The pictures inside are nearly all male nudes aside from a handful of religious and mythological sketches. There are no page numbers. The first page of the book contains a quote from Matisse regarding his interests in the human figure. There are also two purple bookmarks denoting significant sketches. The first is labelled 'Crucifixion with Burning Buildings' and depicts the crucifixion of a Christ-like figure against a backdrop of a burning city. The second is labelled 'Sketch for Diana in 'Diana and Actaeon' c. 198' and depicts the mythological figures Diana and Actaeon. Number of Sketches: 62 20th Century
