McCarthy Sketchbook A very large dark brown sketchbook, bound with board and buckram and is approximately forty two centimetres tall by twenty eight centimetres wide. The sketches within the book are a combination of portraits, male nudes, rough doodles and cubist-style paintings. There are no page numbers. Near the back of the sketchbook is a painting of Christ on the cross. In addition, another unusual image can be found on the final page before the end, a still life of a skull surrounded by fruit. There are poems and religious prayers written next to some of the sketches. Number of Sketches: 51 1991
