  <dc:title>Good Neighbours Scheme/Spitalfields Careworkers Scheme</dc:title>
<dc:description>Records of the Good Neighbours and Spitalfields Careworkers Schemes, including correspondence, and reports on development and running of the schemes.

The Good Neighbours Scheme was set up by the Spitalfields Project Steering Group in May 1975 with the aim of helping to maintain the independence of housebound elderly and those living with disabilities who were isolated from the community to which a social worker was appointed in December 1975. From it developed the Spitalfields Care Workers Scheme, which was designed to meet the needs as above through the appointment of careworkers from the community. </dc:description>
