Brick Lane Festival celebrated the global mix of music, food, history, arts and fashion. Both EMEP and Sew-East were trying to bridge the gap in the community by using this event to bring people from all backgrounds and cultures to celebrate and advocate 'Peace, Unity and end to Terrorism' in the light of the 9/11 bombings in London. 

The Sew-East's 'I Love Brick Lane', Fashion Show emerged from the Sew-East Programme which had been running for years. The Sew-East Programme provided specialist fashion advice and guidance for ethnic minorities within London. The Sew-East's 'I Love Brick Lane' worked with ethnic minority designers across London.</dc:description>
