Expenses book, 1874-1879 Small volume entitled 'Expenses' containing records of J. J. and S. W. Chalk monthly expenses from July 1874 - March 1879. The majority of the volume has been used to record monthly expenses in a table format, including monthly, quarterly and yearly summaries and totals. There are some additional account records at the rear of the volume with listings of transactions dating from 1877-1878, mainly under the name of Seymour William Chalk (SWC) and often containing figures for 'cash' and 'cash paid'. These sections have been scored through and annotated with the text 'settled'. 1874-1879
