Sales Ledger Amount Outstanding, 1970 Very large volume entitled 'Sales Ledger Amount Outstanding 1970' containing records about accounts held with J. J. and S. W. Chalk from April 1970 - September 1974 and some loose documentation dating from April 1973 - March 1974. The volume has an embedded alphabetic index, containing records arranged alphabetically by account holder name within the index and multiple entries per page. Each page is designed to hold information about a number of account holders for a particular year span, with the first column entitled 'FWD' (containing a single letter per entry, either 'A', 'B', 'C', 'D' or 'E') and subsequent columns recording figures per financial quarter. The final column on the page records totals paid, under the heading of 'Estimated Good Total owing'. The main body of the records (account holder quarterly figures and totals) date from June 1970 - September 1974, however, at the end of the alphabetic index there are some additional records. These consist of figures re bad debts for Riga Yard and Finland Wharf dating from 1 April 1970 - 31 March 1974 and also some loose material including: correspondence (re companies in liquidation) and handwritten notes, calculations and account figures. 1970-1974
