Description | The following title deeds are known to have been in the custody of Stepney Metropolitan Borough before 1965. For others, whose whereabouts during the lifetime of the Metropolitan Borough are not certain, see L/THL/J. The majority relate to an area in Limehouse near the Thames, off Fore Street (renamed Narrow Street in 1876) and Nightingale Lane (renamed Brightlingsea Place in 1905), where John and Alfred Blyth, engineers, following their father Thomas Blyth, a sailmaker, gradually accumulated premises behind Blyth's Wharf for their steam engine manufacturing business. |
