AdminHistoryFollowing the Military Services Act, 1916, a local Military Service Tribunal for Poplar was established by the Metropolitan Borough of Poplar on 17 February 1916 (see Poplar Borough Council minutes), holding its first meeting at Poplar Town Hall on 28th February 1916. Regular meetings were held on Thursdays, from then until the end of the war, dealing with applications for exemption from military service
