Thomas Ennor was a builder of some note in the Victorian East End. He was born in 1815 in St. Agnes near Truro in Cornwall as was his wife Jane. By 1855 he was established as a carpenter at 38 Hardinge Street near Commercial Road, though by 1857 he is described in the trade directory of that year as "builder and contractor".
